A Badger travels!
Well it’s no good me feeling sorry for myself, things happen in a badgers life!
And now I find myself far away from my woodland home in Badger Wood. However, I have found new friends who have helped me on my travels.
It must be unusual I think, for a badger such as myself, born in such humble surroundings under an Upple shed, to find himself in these circumstances. I have brave relatives, like Auntie Twiddle, who always encouraged me to explore the wider world, but I don’t think even Auntie Twiddle would have guessed I could have travelled so far!
I suppose it all started when I thought we could find something of value to put in the soil to stop the Upples from building. Having found a pot of gold (Book 1) I thought that would be an end to our troubles, but then Norm disappeared (Book 3).
Norm.
He would do anything for his favourite food of Pizza so I shouldn’t be surprised that he is always on the lookout for it. We did find him eventually, he had gone searching for food, of course, but we didn’t expect him to have made friends with an Upple boy.
Luckily, the boy was kind and Norm had so much fun I didn’t have the heart to warn him away from this Upple. This is a small price to pay for Norm’s friendship though, as Norm is the bravest and largest mouse I have ever met. He has used his strength and his very long tail to get us all out of trouble more than once.
And how we ended up in Australia (Book 4), who would have thought I would get there? After all they don’t have badgers in Australia, I must have looked a funny sight with my black and white coat, scratching all the time. It’s so hot down under, a badgers coat is thick and not really suitable for a hot climate!
